A young woman's journey through today's business world
This blog is about a lot of things...
Aphrodite and Artemis were both Greek Goddesses. Aphrodite was the Goddess of Love and Beauty, and Artemis was the Goddess of the Hunt. Being a women in contemporary US society is a balancing act. How is that we can remain passionate, feminine, and loving, but keep up with the boys? I ask myself if my feminine nature is a disadvantage when attempting to navigate today’s business world. After thoroughly considering this question, my reply is “no.” Why? Because as women, we also have another side, and this side is reflected by Artemis. We are lovers, but also fighters. We are feminine, but not stupid. Perhaps we face unique challenges, but we are also at an advantage because we have the emotional intelligence to deal with the obstacles that will not stop us.

I am my own deliverable, and as such, I must present myself with the same confidence that I would present an idea to a client. This means reinterpretting my weaknesses into opportunities, and identifying unique ways in which I can demonstrate my invaluable, but non-traditional skill set.
